Family Movie Night

Friday, October 6th

 

 


Please join us Friday, October 6th for Family Appreciation Night.
This much anticipated Movie Night will be fun for all!
The event starts at 6:00pm with any easy family dinner. You can purchase pizza by the slice or head over to Dickie’s BBQ food truck.
We will begin the showing of The Secret Life of Pets (PG) promptly at 7:00pm.
Plan on grabbing dinner for the family, bringing a blanket, and enjoying fellowship with friends and popcorn and cotton candy provided by your PTO.

Grandparents' Day

Friday, October 20th

The PTO is excited to host our 2nd Annual Grandparents Breakfast on Friday, October 20th.

Because of the overwhelmingly amazing attendance last year, we have found the need to break into two groups.  In order to keep the experience enjoyable for our Grandparents, please adhere to these guidelines as best as you can:

Students with last names A-L please arrive to the GYM at 7:00AM.

Students with last names M-Z please arrive to the GYM at 7:45AM.


IMPORTANT: Please RSVP to eesgrandparents@yahoo.com with the number of Grandparents AND students attending. If you would like to have a picture included in the slideshow, all electronic pictures must be emailed to eesgrandparents@yahoo.com by Friday, October 13th.

Wild West Book Fair

October 23rd-27th

The Wild West Book Fair being held October 23 – 27 is just around the corner!

The Book Fair Committee could still use your help as we get ready to saddle up and read! Click the link below to sign up to help with the fair. Volunteers receive a 10% discount on all purchases made at the Book Fair. Book Fair Volunteer SignUp

We will have two morning events, “Donuts with Dads or Other Special Person”, and a shortened Family Night during the week of the fair to allow families to shop with their children. You are always welcome to shop during your child’s scheduled class trip to the fair.

“Donuts with Dads or Other Special Person” for families with last names beginning with A-K will be held Tuesday, October 24 from 7:15am until 8:45am.

“Donuts with Dads or Other Special Person” for families with last names beginning with L-Z will be held Wednesday, October 25 from 7:15am until 8:45am.

Please note the time change for this event from years past!

Another change for this year is a shortened Family Night. The Book Fair will be open on Thursday, October 26 until 6:00pm for those who wish to shop after work.

We appreciate your willingness to help with this event as we couldn’t do it without each of our wonderful volunteers! Contact Dana Iverson (dandj1012@gmail.com) with any questions.

 Fall Clean Up Day

Saturday, October 28th, 2:00-5:00pm

If you love working outside, meeting new people,
using power tools or have a truck-WE NEED YOU!!!
              
Sat. Oct. 28th 2-5PM

Gather your tools and meet us on the upper playground
as we trim, rake, lop, haul, paint,
plant, clear and sweat our way to a more beautiful campus! 

If you have work gloves, please feel free to bring them. We will also have plenty available!

Skate Night and Sonic Spirit Night 

Tuesday, October 3rd

Come join the fun at the Brentwood Skate Center from 4:30 – 7:00pm.  

The cost is $6 entry and $3 skate rental.  The class with the most participation will be rewarded the Golden Skate! Also, don't forget to grab dinner at Sonic on Wilson Pike Circle between 4-8pm, and EES will receive 20% of your purchase!

Please bring the coupon that is sent home with your child that week.

 EES Spirit Nights

Come support EES and join the fun!! Remember to invite families, friends, and other supporters of EES to join in on EES Spirit Nights!!   

Sonic Spirit Night - Tuesday, October 3rd

EES families can pick up dinner at Sonic after Skate Night! Drive in to Sonic on Wilson Pike Circle between 4-8pm, and EES will receive 20% of your purchase! Please bring the coupon that is sent home with your child.  

Papa John's Spirit Night - Tuesday, October 17th

EES will receive 20% of sales from EES deliveries and carryouts from 4-11:30pm! (Franklin Road location ONLY.) Each month, the class with the most participation will win a PIZZA PARTY! Please mention that you are with Edmondson, and give them your teacher’s name when placing your order. 

Papa Murphy's Spirit Night - Monday, October 30th

EES families can pick up fresh made Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N’ Bake pizza anytime between 11am-8pm at the Maryland Farms location, 101 Creekside Crossing. EES will receive 10% of sales. Show the flyer OR simply mention that you are with Edmondson for EES to receive credit for the school.

Staff Lunches Committee

Volunteer Today!

Greetings from the Staff Lunches Committee!
 
Thank you for making our first luncheon a success. The staff loved the Picnic theme, and enjoyed the fabulous food and items you all generously provided- we couldn’t do it without you.

Our committee provides a meal every other month for our EES Staff as a way to say thanks for all that they do. We ask our wonderful parents to bring in food items, beverages, paper products, and small items for each luncheon. We send out a Sign Up Genius where you sign up for your items, bring it into school, and we take care of the rest! 

Mark your calendars for our next event on Tuesday, November 14. We will be enjoying a “Taste of Italy”- a staff favorite!

Kroger, Publix, Smile Amazon, and Shutterfly are the easiest ways for our school to earn extra money! Remember to link/relink your Kroger card. This must be done at the beginning of each school year. Contact Karen Costantine at karenbenton4@gmail.com with questions.

CLIP, BUNDLE, & DROP Box Tops

Support EES All Year Long

The EES Box Tops Fall semester contest has begun! Help our school reach our goal of $2200 by collecting at least 22,000 Box Tops. Following the Fall and Spring Final Collections, a $25 gift card will be awarded to the student who collects the most valid Box Tops, a $25 gift card will be awarded to the teacher whose class room collected the most valid Box Tops. In addition, (2) $10 gift cards will be awarded by random drawing from all the students who participated in the contest. A Class Room Ice Cream Party will be awarded to the class that collects the most Box Tops for the entire year.

Earning cash for EES is as simple as CLIP, BUNDLE and DROP!

  1. CLIP, CLIP, CLIP! Clip Box Tops from participating products. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents. No need to trim them perfectly, just make sure the expiration date, value and logo are visible. Please do not send expired Box Tops, they have no value.
  2. BUNDLE! Please put Box Tops in zip bags or envelopes in quantities of 25 or 50. Label with quantity, your student's name and teacher's name. Collection sheets are available on the Box Tops website and in the front lobby of the school.
  3. DROP! Send the Box Tops to school on the first Monday of each month for collection. Students can turn their bags, collection sheets or envelopes to their teacher or place in the front lobby collection bin.

REMINDER: Final collection date for the fall is Friday October 27th, 2017.

Box Tops is a great program that earns money for our students and teachers. Encourage all your family and friends to collect for your student. You can also earn bonus box tops by visiting the BOX TOPS website: www.BTFE.com

Volunteer Levels and Badges

We love our EES volunteers!

WCS has three levels of volunteering in the schools. The first step in all levels is to complete the School Volunteer Application and Confidentiality Agreement and have a copy of your driver's license on file at each school in which you are volunteering.  These forms need to be turned in each year.  If you plan to volunteer, please stop by the school office and complete this form. 

If you are planning to go on any school field trips, you must go through a background check including fingerprinting which is Tier III. Fingerprinting is one time ONLY! Approximately 2 weeks after completing the process, you can check with your Principal, or designated school employee, to be sure you are on the approved list.  You will NOT hear from WCS if you are approved.  After receiving Tier III approval, you can have a volunteer badge made at Edmondson on specified days listed below. To complete the application process or for more info please visit: www.wcs.edu/parents-students/volunteer-in-schools/. Don't delay and go ahead and get the process started today.

 Need a Tier 3 Volunteer Badge?  Come by EES at any of the following times:

Oct 18: 8:30-11am
Nov 8: 11am-1pm
Jan 10: 8:30-11am
Feb 7: 11am-1pm
Mar 7: 8:30-11am
